Some Answers

In general my violins take between a month and a half to two months from start to finish. Antiqued intruments always tend to take a little longer as the antiquing adds an additional week to the finish time. Some makers claim that it takes them 6 months or more to make a violin and in general this is a lie. Any decent maker, who is trying to make their living in the violin making field should be able to make a great violin in under two months and anyone who claims it takes them longer is usually trying to justify a ridiculous sale price. The only time a violin should take longer than this to make, is if one is making an exact copy of an instrument-in which case it had better look like the instrument being copied.

My violins currently sell for $14,000-16,000.
